
Community Spotlight: Rio Vista Community Park
Right off of the loop 101 and Thunderbird is a park and recreation space offering picnic areas, a playground, a splash pad, and facilities for sports. Rio Vista Park is a treasure of the city of Peoria here in the West Valley. It is a well-maintained park outside of Phoenix that offers a wide range of opportunities for you and your family too.

Recreation Center
Located inside of Rio Vista Community Park, the Rio Vista Recreation Center is designed to be a versatile, family-friendly facility. Its numerous amenities and programs are intended to engage residents and promote healthy lifestyles.
The Recreation Center is home to a number of firsts in Peoria, including the first public gymnasium, the first indoor racquetball courts, the first climbing wall and so much more. The 52,000 square-foot facility was recognized by the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association as an Outstanding Facility of the Year in 2007 and in 2008.
Skate Park
Opened in 2004 and comes equipped with shaded seating areas, lighting, large bowl, small bowl, stair sets, boxes/ledges/rails.
Rio Vista Skatepark is located within Rio Vista Community Park. It is an awesome place to practice your skateboarding or in-line skating skills. This 32,000 square-foot park is filled with features for every skill level.
Playground
The playground is well equipped with swings, slides, obstacles, and gymnasium structures. The playground is very nice and undergoes regular maintenance. The kids love it!
Ramadas and Picnic Areas
There is nothing quite like having a midday picnic with the family. Rio Vista’s Ramadas are perfect for kids’ birthdays, lunch dates, or get togethers. Plus, reserving a spot is a piece of cake.
